Description: Tuta absoluta is a species of moth can can cause serious damage in tomatoes as well as other solanaceae crops of most noteworthy potatoes, eggplant and peppers. The larva feeds voraciously upon tomato plants, producing a great  amount of damage to leaves, burrowing in stalks, and consuming apical buds and green and ripe fruits. It is capable of causing complete yield loss. 

Frequent scounting / monitoring is required control measures must be put in place from early sightings of the pest.
