Role in the plant: Iron is necessary for photosynthesis and is present as an enzyme cofactor in plants and thus critical for healthy vegetative growth.
Deficiency symptoms: Yellowing of the young leaves, particularly between the veins.

Soils that have iron most prevalent: Red soils. Most available at low pH`s.
Management remarks: Typically applied with granulated fertilizers. Foliar fertilizers can be used to rapidly correct deficiencies.
