MANAGING PESTS AROUND YOUR HOME

(i) Correctly identify the pests in your garden. Some insects are benign to plants or beneficial to the ecology of your garden and therefore should not be controlled.

(ii) For problematic insects, start with using the safest methods of control. This could include using a combination of cultural methods, biologicals and pheromone products.

(iii) Synthetic products can be considered as an intervention strategy, provided they are used responsibly. Where possible use products that selectively target the pests, as opposed to using broad spectrum insecticides which can in some instances can be more detrimental.

MANAGING DISEASE IN YOUR PLANTS

(i) Diseases are best controlled preventively or at first sign of infection.

(ii) Kobe is derived from plant extracts and has three unique modes of action that can help prevent bacterial, viral and fungal diseases. This is our safest product to help prevent diseases and it has some curative action against some fungal diseases.

(iii). Broad-spectrum synthetic fungicides should be considered in instances where strong curative action is required. Refer to the label for Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI) recommendations prior to spraying food crops.
